Overview
The electronics consists of four parts: 1. Raspberry Pi Model B 2. Arduino Uno 3. Grbl Compatible Stepper Motor Shield 4. Custom Sensor Shield
Components
Raspberry Pi Model B
Arduino Uno
Currently flashed with stock Grbl firmware. At some point this is likely to be forked.
Older Arduino boards will not have enough program memory to contain the firmware.
Grbl Compatible Stepper Motor Shield
Any Grbl compatible Arduino shield can be used here to control the three main axes of motion. End stop switches also connect to this board.
For the first prototype I created a custom shield that has sockets for three RepRap generation 3 stepper motor boards.
